Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Who I am

I'm Joenil Alga — a software engineer and consultant. I build my own products and take on select client work. These terms apply to anyone engaging with my services or using this website.

2. Engagements

Every client engagement starts with a scoping conversation. I'll put the agreed scope, timeline, deliverables, and payment terms in writing — either a proposal, statement of work, or master services agreement — before starting any build. These written agreements override any general statements on this site.

3. Confidentiality

I routinely work under NDAs. What you share with me stays with me. I'm happy to sign your NDA or use my standard template. Credentials, source code, and business information you entrust to me are handled with appropriate care and deleted on project close or on request.

4. Ownership

Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing, you own the work product I deliver for you once payment is settled. I retain the right to reference the engagement at a high level in my portfolio (typically: your brand name, project type, and outcomes), unless you've asked me not to or the work is under NDA.

5. My own products

My products (Chimmi, Kidzkwela, Emhash, RouteTah, GoTrycatch, and others) have their own terms and privacy policies available on each product's site. Nothing on this site is an offer or warranty about those products — check the product itself for the accurate, current terms.

6. Limitation of liability

I care about quality and take my work seriously, but to the extent permitted by law, my total liability for any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement. I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

7. Changes

I may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. For active engagements, the terms in effect when your agreement was signed continue to apply unless we both agree to change them.
